Dear Friends,
As we approach the holiday season, we would like to update you on the key factors that could impact the ordering process. Three converging events are currently disrupting the supply chain in Canada: Covid-19, transportation delays and weather conditions in British Columbia. OrthoCanada is proactively working to make sure our service continues to meet and exceed your expectations even through these challenging events.
The most recent event that has disrupted the supply chain in Canada is the severe weather in British Columbia. Mudslides and water damage have gravely affected residents, farms, businesses and entire communities, and created hazardous conditions for service and delivery of goods.
To support British Columbia clinics OrthoCanada will be shipping small parcel orders to BC by air using FedEx Express. OrthoCanada will absorb extra costs until the situation is resolved.
This shipping policy will apply to orders over $100 in value and excludes heavy and bulky items. If you have any concerns about your shipment and orders, you can contact our BC customer service specialists and account representatives during normal business hours PST:

With regards to the impacts Covid-19 has had on the supply chain, it is important to realize that the pandemic continues to have major impacts around the world, especially with labour shortages that affect the production capacities in most markets and industries. One of the greatest impacts of this labor shortage is found in maritime ports along America’s West Coast, in Los Angeles, Portland and Vancouver, where a constant flow of goods usually arrives and departs to and from Asia. This in turn is creating backlogs in the trucking and railroad traffic to other regions in Canada. OrthoCanada is working diligently to secure more local and Canadian made products in the hope to elevate some of these concerns. For more information about these transportation and logistics impacts see this informative video from 60 Minutes.
Lastly, the combination of these events is a challenging time for all and as we ramp up towards what is normally the busiest time of the year for small parcel deliveries, we encourage clinicians and clinic managers to consider these factors and plan supply & equipment requirements accordingly.
Thank you for making OrthoCanada your trusted partner for supplies and equipment.
